Route

Ammoudi → Thirassia → volcano → Black Mountain → White Beach → Red Beach → sunset → Vlychada

Caldera Traditional cruise route around Santorini, from Ammoudi to Vlychada
  1. Ammoudi Bay, Oia

Board at the old fishing port beneath Oia. The boat leaves at 15:30.

  2. Thirassia

First stop on a quiet fishermen’s island, with time in the water to swim and snorkel.

  3. Volcano and hot springs

Sail toward Nea Kameni and the warm, mineral-stained water around the springs.

  4. Black Mountain

Pass Akrotiri’s dark volcanic cliffs, a wall of lava rock rising straight from the sea.

  5. White Beach

Pale pumice cliffs drop into the water; the boat follows this stretch of coast.

  6. Red Beach

Famous rust-red cliffs near Akrotiri, seen from the water as you continue south.

  7. Caldera sunset

Watch the sky change over the caldera from the boat before heading into harbour.

  8. Vlychada

Disembark at the southern marina after sunset; the minibus then returns you to the hotels.

What's included

A/C minibus from and to the hotel, dinner on board, and snorkel gear. Sunset on the 24th is around 19:57 — the operator may shift times with sunset or weather, or change the route if conditions are poor.

Both hotels are on the same alley in Pyrgos — about a 2 minute walk apart, so it's easy to meet up before transport pickups.
Worth knowing: Pyrgos is a hilltop village of steep, narrow, cobbled lanes, and most restaurants sit in historic buildings with a step or two at the entrance — accessible entrances are the exception, not the rule. None of the venues below have a confirmed step-free entrance. It's worth calling ahead to ask about entry and toilet access before booking. Newer/renovated venues (Occasus Solis, Akau) are more likely to have easier access than the older taverna buildings.

Getting around Pyrgos

The village is built on a hillside with steep, narrow, cobbled lanes and frequent steps — it's one of the more difficult villages on the island for wheelchair users. The lane both hotels sit on is relatively manageable, but side streets and the upper village (towards the Venetian castle) involve real climbing. Wheelchair/mobility scooter rentals are available locally if useful to know about.

Venue transfers

All transfers run as shared minibuses between the hotels and the venue (Islet Santorini, Fira). Arrival is timed to a set drop-off point (upper parking area), and return pickup is from the main entrance at a fixed departure time — see each event on the Schedule tab for your group's exact times.
